It’s electric… boogie woogie woogie

I have this new magic eight ball app on my phone. Yep I’m that cool. Well I’m sure you all know how it works, but for those of you who don’t all you do is  ask a question, then shake your phone vigorously and out pops an answer. Too bad  making a legitimate decision is not that easy. What is it about making a decision that is so difficult? For me I think that it all boils down to fear. I read this passage below recently and wanted to share it with you:

The opposite of faith is not doubt or even unbelief, but rather, fear. “Whenever we are threatened by forces beyond our control, fear and faith compete for our allegiance.” For this reason, no command is repeated more often in the Bible than the simple command, “Fear not.” We should not be surprised that it is the storms of life that actually prove our faith. “We need to learn to  trust in a Savior who does not deliver us from storms but through the storms. Christianity is not a refuge from the uncertainties and insecurities of the world.” Instead, our faith is a refuge in the midst of the uncertainties and insecurities of the world.”

Another:

“Indecision is debilitating; it feeds upon itself; it is, one might almost say, habit-forming. Not only that, but it is contagious; it transmits itself to others.”

So I’m going to make a decision today to be bold, step out in faith, use discernment and wisdom as a guide, and make a stinkin decision.

What are you going to do??????

And what decision are you making ??

Love it, people think that decisions are the end of what we do, but they are actually just the beginning. Great post Schanell, as usual.

I agree with you on your first post above that “our faith is a refuge in the midst of our uncertainties and insecurities of this world”. We have to stand firm in our faith and know and believe that the Lord is there all the time!!! Hebrews 11:1 says the definition of faith but are we as believers actually standing firm in it? We live in a very negative world where the media portrays an image that people take litterally. The economy, war, local events etc. Determine how we react on a daily basis. My feelings are…forget all of that and trust in what Jesus is doing!! The outcome is far better that way! Plus, we might even see a positive change happening in our lives. But the sad thing is the world doesn’t think like that. But we as believers must make a change and be Jesus to the lost and broken. Then we can focus on what is happening in our world.
